AI summary: Produces and edits compelling video content across social platforms, managing the full lifecycle from concept through final delivery for Spotify's owned channels.

Description

We are seeking a seasoned video storyteller — someone who brings strong production craft and a social-native instinct — to join the Spotify News social team. This is a hands-on, senior production role for a self-starter who brings creative vision before being asked and operates effectively with minimal direction.

The work spans the full video production lifecycle: from initial concept and storyboarding through footage gathering, editing, rights clearance, approvals, and final delivery. You’ll produce and edit compelling content — from sizzle reels and product overviews to short-form social clips — that brings Spotify’s corporate and consumer narratives to life across our owned editorial channels, including @SpotifyNews. The ideal candidate knows how to make audiences feel something: content that stops the scroll, builds excitement, and gives people chills in the best way.

What You’ll Do

  • Concept, storyboard, produce, and edit video content for Spotify’s owned channels, including @SpotifyNews
  • Create sizzle reels, product overviews, and launch content that brings Spotify moments to life with clarity and emotional impact
  • Own the full production lifecycle from initial idea through editing, approvals, and final delivery
  • Source and clear licensed footage, music, and assets, ensuring compliance with rights and usage requirements
  • Turn announcements, launches, and cultural moments into engaging, video-first storytelling
  • Support real-time and rapid-turn production during key company and cultural moments
  • Stay close to social trends and platform updates to keep content relevant and engaging
  • Collaborate with communications, marketing, design, and creative teams across projects
  • Experiment with formats and creative approaches to grow audience engagement
  • Use performance insights to refine storytelling and improve future content

Who You Are

  • You have 7+ years of experience in video production, editing, or digital storytelling
  • You bring ideas forward and take ownership from concept to delivery with minimal direction
  • You have experience creating social-first video content across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn
  • You are comfortable working with licensed content, rights management, and approval workflows
  • You move quickly and make thoughtful decisions in fast-paced environments
  • You understand how audiences engage with video content and what makes it resonate
  • You care about storytelling that connects emotionally and leaves a lasting impression
  • You stay curious about culture, trends, and evolving social formats
  • You manage multiple projects and stakeholders with clarity and organization
  • You use data and performance insights to inform your creative decisions
  • You explore new tools, including AI, to improve your craft and workflow
  • You have an interest in music, creators, and culture

Where You’ll Be

  • This role is based in New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home
  • We ask that you come in 2-3 times per week
